Advising Services

 

AMIDEAST/Yemen provides accurate, comprehensive, current, and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. We are part of the EducationUSA network of approximately 450 advising centers worldwide affiliated with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, maintaining EducationUSA ethical standards.

We have an extensive collection of materials on U.S.-accredited educational opportunities available for public use.  Advising services are offered to anyone interested in U.S. study as well as accredited U.S. institutions, and U.S. graduates returning to Yemen. The EducationUSA adviser is available for free consultation, for anyone in Yemen, and can be contacted at advising-sanaa@amideast.org.

The EducationUSA Center provides educational and career information services, including

  • Materials and resources, available at the EducationUSA centers in Sana’a and Aden
  • Application support services, including free consultation with the EducationUSA Adviser in   Yemen. 
  • Online information, tips, and updates through Facebook and Twitter

Library Collections

The EducationUSA centers at AMIDEAST maintain an extensive collection of materials on U.S. and regional educational opportunities including books, software, college and university catalogs, brochures on professional training opportunities, audiovisual materials, and more. Please note that the EducationUSA center is currently open only in Aden. Anyone who attends a consultation with the EducationUSA Adviser is eligible for free use of the EducationUSA center materials, between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM daily. 

EducationUSA Center Highlights:

  • Reference books on U.S. education, testing, financial aid, fields of study, and other subjects;
  • Files on areas of study and careers;
  • Information on English language and professional short-term training in the U.S.;
  • U.S. college and university catalogs and materials.
