Immediate Supervisor: Student Affairs Officer

Location: Cairo, Egypt                                 

 

 

Position Summary:

The Student Affairs Assistant will support one Student Affairs Officers in the monitoring and support of students in the Public University Scholarships program and the implementation of functional aspects of the program by providing administrative and logistical support. The functional aspects that the Assistant may provide support in include student advising; scholarship recruitment; and enhancement activity coordination. Activities may include data entry, drafting documents, contacting students, creating student reports, making phone calls, collecting data, supporting the hiring and monitoring of trainers, coordinating appointments and meetings, and timely and accurate filing of key project documentation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Track student completion of activities and requirements and ensure that the student monitoring database is up to date.
  • Communicate with students, as needed
  • Draft program documents including announcements, advertisements, success stories, and report components;
  • Participate in review and screening of student scholarship applications
  • Organize and follow up on training logistics and procurement of books and program materials;
  • Maintain attendance records for trainers, and use to compile trainer payment requests on a monthly basis;
  • Collect student attendance from trainers to track attendance and participation;
  • Prepare end of semester participant attendance and performance data and evaluation statistics and submit to manager for quarterly reporting;
  • Prepare fliers, graduation reports and certificates and other documents for special events;
  • Maintain program files and documentation in an organized manner
  • Coordinate logistics with universities as needed
  • Keep record of and follow up on cost share documentation requests
  • Arrange for meetings
  • Perform other tasks as requested.

 

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline such as education or business.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent English and Arabic proficiency
  • Organization and problem solving skills;
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Passion for youth development
  • Egyptian citizenship

 

Preferred:

 

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with program administration or project management
  • Time management skills;
  • Team Player;
  • Interpersonal Skills;
  • Knowledge of U.S. university system
